Story time!
Got a call from his insurance adjuster.  My mother started laughing, and gave me the phone, since she didn't quite understand.  Apparently, I was in left hand lane(you know, the one with oncoming traffic), beginning a left hand turn(which is why, when passing me on the right, his front left impacted my front right corner).

I took a few minutes to laugh at the poor lady on the phone.  Then I explained that, since I was hit from the right, that my truck should have traveled further to the left, and yet I was still on the right hand side of the double yellow lines.  I told her that, while I didn't take AP Physics my senior year, I am pretty certain that an impact from the right hand side imparts an impulse on the stricken vehicle in the opposite direction.  I was fairly confused, then, how the Dodge Neon managed to pull me out of the left hand lane(remarkable, since my wheels were turned left to make this left hand turn of mine) and into the right lane, with my right front rim sitting on the shoulder, with his front right tire popped as the rim was bent by the edge of the drainage ditch, which runs off to the right of a shoulder that's as wide as a single lane on most roads.

In any case, they're paying for his repairs.  And while she said she had to believe his story(I asked why), their company is willing to cover 80% of the repairs to the truck, and 80% of a truck rental cost, since Pennsylvania law forces them to cover between 50% and 100% when their driver is at fault(because he was the trailing vehicle).  Splitting the difference with that range would have been 75%.  If his story were correct, and they really believed him, then 50% should have been their offer.  Makes me wonder if, you know, they don't really believe him, but they have to say they do, because they don't want to lose a customer(one who will probably be paying higher rates in the near future nonetheless).

Now I'm waiting to hear from my insurance adjuster to see if we should take their offer and get the ball rolling.

Edit:  Our adjuster called back, said to take the money and run; apparently I was also swerving a bit, from lane to lane and swerved back to the right into him.
